The 16th International Conference on Chemical Education, ICCE |
|
| I heard of this conference and realised that it would be valuable and interesting for me to participate so I asked the Department of Education in Stockholm for money. They evidently agreed to my opinion, I was promised money if I applied for all the grants that was possible - which led to more money and travelling later. | |
Budapest showed her best
view when we arrived.
We stayed at a nice hotel and we had a nice walk to the conference,
that took place at the Institute of Technology - many times we also took the tram. The first day we made an
excursion to Margaret's Island, a
green oasis in the big city. We had luncheon and enjoyed the beautiful
weather. We also had a walking distance to the big market hall where we could buy food and also hungarian embroideries, T-shirts, dresses and other necessary things. Of course we spent many hours in this market hall before it was time to go to the conference for registration.
The program during the conference was full so the sightseeing had
to be done in the evenings - there were many nice restaurants with a
view of the river or in the small streets - there was no lack of food in
this city! One evening we participated in a tour with boat on the river and we had a wonderful dinner and the opportunity to dance and talk while the boat was cruising up and down the Donau. One afternoon we also could escape to the Gellert bath a couple of hours to enjoy thermal bath and a wonderful massage. |
