Conference in Budapest June 2003 |
|
| After four years of intensive research studies our lecentiate papers were finished in May 2003, In order to evaluate the four years work individually and groupwise the Research School went to Budapest together with their supervisors for a weekend in June 2003... | |
Budapest in the middle of
June 2003 was hot, the temperature was around 30 degrees and it was a
little oppressive since Budapest is a large city. We stayed in a small
hotel Ibis, in the heart of the city
and the program contained a visit to an institution the first day,
before the conference in the other two days. The idea was that we should
discuss what had been good during the four years Research School and
what could have been done in another way.In total the group was very happy, that so many had finished their licentiate papers must be regarded as a good result.
The most important conclusion was that we would have needed even more
supervision even earlier - imagine if we had realised what the project
would involve from the beginning. During the saturday we had personal
interviews with professor Staffan Selander, the person who was
responsible for the Research School within the Institute of Education,
but there was also time yo see the city.We also visited the baths during our stay in Budapest, personally I went to the Gellert hotel for a bath and a massage. There the conference dinner was served in the saturday evening - a very nice and memorable event. The trip to Budapest was a very good termination of the research School! |
